Peter Waters, Cradle (PEOPLE 2023)

These images, from a series titled 90 Seconds, are a response to humanity seemingly teetering on the edge of a precipice. The plight of our species expressed in pictures is a well worn path dating back tens of thousands of years. And just like early forms of body painting and cave drawings the "canvas”, water, contributes its own unique character. Exposure time for the complete series totals 90 seconds, the time we have left on the doomsday clock. Image is of actor and Port Melbourne Iceberger, Natasha Herbert, taken in Nairm, 2022.

Images have been resized for web display, which may cause some loss of image quality. Note: Original high-resolution images are used for judging.
