Paula Funston, Dog Rocks Tree Shadow (PLACES 2021)

A long exposure of a famous tree at Dog Rocks, Batesford, Victoria, Australia. A tree that is photographed by most people interested in photography but I don't think I've seen one that looks like this. The shadow of the tree actually looks likes the roots of the tree are reaching down into the earth. I don't shoot much black & white but went out to day in search of something and loved the shadow as soon as I saw it. This was a 3.5 minute exposure, another thing I haven't done a lot to, normally I stick to 30 second exposures. Nisi filters were used to take this photo during the middle of the day.
