Sarah Iskandar, Domus Locusta (ANIMALS 2023)

Domus Locusta is Latin for home locust. I nearly stepped on this little guy as I walked up my driveway early one morning in May. I rushed inside to grab my camera, and lacking a macro lens, a zoom lens to try capture him before he hopped away. I lay on my 27week pregnant belly and got as close as I dared to capture this image. Sometimes it can be the things closest to home that are worthy of our attention.
