Impala, commonly known as the fast food of the game reserves graze without predation at Mlilwane in Eswatini, Southern Africa. Existing now in strong numbers since the creation of their fenced game reserves but once at unviable populations due to habitat loss and hunting. The pink of the infrared is symbolic of the strikingly artificial nature of the ‘wildlife farms’ required to conserve these magical creatures, allowing them to live wildly even though the micro-diversity of their reconstructed environments is entirely manipulated by human choice, controlling what species arrive, survive, or thrives in an ecosystem entirely out of balance – like a hand sculpted diorama.
