Fiona Bowring, Josie Beatific (PEOPLE 2023)

During 2022 I photographed strong women, doing what they love. Josie is a photographic and textile artist, a scientist, a pole fit dancer and instructor. Just 31 days after this portrait was made, she became a mother of three. Viewed live, the beauty and rhythm of Josie’s movements are mesmeric. Josie makes it look easy. With still photography, you realise the incredible strength and athleticism which supports Josie's physical artistry.
