Robyn MacRae, Mungo rains (PLACES 2024)

This sacred, beautiful windswept country lies within the Willandra Lakes World Heritage area in the Mungo National Park in NSW. I feel privileged to have walked on the country of the Barkandjii, Paakantyi the Mutthi Muthii and the Ngiyampaa people and pay respect to those that have walked on the same country since the dream time. There are many stories to be told and debated here. History has been questioned This unique dry lake landscape has been forged by the power of nature for 50,000 years and when you visit you feel dwarfed by the big skies and the sense of past as the colours and the power of this this country envelop you.
