Peter Waters, Sean Mcgrath (PEOPLE 2022)
Becoming an iceberger, and bathing in Nairm at dawn, can be a tangential moment in the arc of life. We assemble for our daily ritual of baptism and rebirth. Pressures and responsibilities of our everyday lives are swept away by the immediacy of the cold needles on our skin, the salty air filling our lungs and the heavens above, glowing with mooncrest, Venus, Mars and the Milky Way. We become weightless, floating in the black ether, weaving trails of bioluminescence. From an ongoing photo series, Empyrean.
