Brian Ellwood, The stands (PLACES 2023)

Walking onto this shearing floor, I was immediately struck by the sense of time and change. The beautiful old woolshed, near Menindee Lakes, NSW, was built in 1875, and over its 97 years of operation 6 million sheep crossed these boards. Now the boards and stands wait, empty and alone.
