David Andrews, Up for air in the breaking surf (ANIMALS 2022)

Lone Green Sea Turtle surfacing for a breath at max high tide on the reef facing side of a large limestone block at Lakeside, Ningaloo Marine Park, Cape Range National Park. At high tide the current surges over the outer reef and into the lagoon creating spectacular wave breaks. Tricky conditions for the shot! Had to avoid getting tossed into the rocks. I’m certainly not as agile as a turtle.
